Built Because Nothing Was Good Enough
Reserve started with a simple frustration: why is billing software in India either ugly, incomplete, or absurdly expensive? Here's what happened next.
I had tried several of the top paid invoicing and expense management tools on the market. Every single one left me unsatisfied. Some were feature-complete but felt like they were designed a decade ago — clunky navigation, outdated UI, a workflow that fought you at every step. Others looked modern but were hollow underneath: missing GST logic, broken reports, no thermal receipt support, or features locked behind expensive subscription tiers that were impossible to justify for a small operation.
At some point I stopped evaluating tools and started building one. It began as a very simple invoicing tool — just a clean form, a PDF export, and proper GST calculations. No grand ambitions. But after actually using it for a few weeks, it became obvious how much more it could be. One feature request led to another. Client ledgers, purchase orders, expense tracking, recurring invoices, bank reconciliation. Each addition made the tool more genuinely useful, not just more bloated.
What started as a personal tool became something I wanted to share. Not because of a market opportunity, but because the problem was real — and the existing solutions genuinely weren't solving it well enough. Indian small businesses deserve software that respects their intelligence, works offline when their internet drops, and doesn't charge them SaaS subscription prices for features they already paid for.
That's Reserve. One developer, one clear goal: make professional business management accessible to every Indian business owner — whether they run a trading firm in Surat, a service agency in Bengaluru, or a retail shop in Nashik. No compromises on design. No compromises on features. No compromises on pricing.
How Reserve is built
Three principles that guide every decision — from the smallest UI detail to the largest feature.
Built for India
GST-first design, INR-native, offline-capable. Reserve is built with a deep understanding of how Indian businesses actually operate — from GSTIN validation to HSN codes to the reality of patchy internet in Tier 2 cities.
Features that matter
Every feature earns its place. No bloat, no dark patterns, no upsells hidden inside the app. Invoices, GST reports, inventory, expenses, multi-document workflows — everything a real business needs, nothing it doesn't.
Always improving
Reserve ships regular updates. The roadmap is driven by what real users need, not by what looks good in a product pitch. If something is broken, it gets fixed. If something is missing, it gets built.
