Your data stays where you put it.
Local-first by design. Your books live in an encrypted database on your own machine — AES-256-GCM, the same standard used by financial institutions. Optional team sync on paid plans sends data to Reserve’s cloud over TLS.
Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Record integrity is verified with HMAC-SHA256. Keys are protected by Windows DPAPI. Your business data stays on your device unless you turn on team sync.

01Is Reserve free GST billing software?
Reserve is paid GST billing software with a 14-day free trial of the full Basic feature set — all six document types, GST reports and exports — no credit card needed. Just create a free account to start. After the trial, plans start at ₹199/month.
02Does Reserve work without internet?
Yes. Your data lives on your machine and everyday work doesn’t need a connection. Online plans check their licence with our servers periodically — if you’re offline, a 7-day grace period after your last successful check keeps you working. Team sync (Advanced/Pro) needs internet to sync, and an offline licence (.lic file) removes the periodic check.
03Is my data secure?
Yes. Reserve uses AES-256-GCM encryption at rest, Argon2id password hashing, HMAC-SHA256 invoice integrity checks, and encrypted backups with 7-file rotation. Windows DPAPI protects the encryption keys. Your books are stored on your machine; data goes to Reserve’s cloud only if you use team sync on Advanced or Pro, and then over an encrypted (TLS) connection.
04Which GST reports does Reserve generate?
GSTR-1 (B2B, B2CS, B2CL, CDNR, CDNUR, HSN Summary), GSTR-3B summary, GSTR-9 annual return, and quarterly GSTR-1. All export to Excel in the portal-matching format, ready to upload to gst.gov.in.
05Can multiple people use Reserve at the same time?
Yes, on Advanced and Pro plans. Team members get individual logins with role-based access (Admin or Staff). Admins control module-level permissions per member. All changes sync in real time across the team.
06Can I manage multiple businesses?
Yes. Basic supports 1 company, Advanced supports 3, and Pro supports 5. Each company has a fully isolated encrypted database and settings — no data ever crosses between companies.
07Can I use Reserve on multiple computers?
Yes, depending on your plan. Manage your devices from the Member Portal. Basic supports 1 device, Advanced supports 3, and Pro supports 5.
08What's the difference between plans?
Basic is for solo users (1 user, 1 company, 1 device). Advanced adds real-time multi-user sync and multi-company support (3 users, 3 companies, 3 devices). Pro extends all limits to 5 with priority support.
09Can I import my old data?
Yes, from older Reserve versions — data migrates automatically on first launch. Bank statements import via CSV. Direct import from other billing apps (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks) is not available yet — it is on our roadmap. If you have a large client or product list, contact us and we will tell you honestly whether we can help speed that part up.
10What is multi-user mode?
Multiple team members can log in with individual credentials. Admins assign roles (Admin/Staff) and control which modules each member can access. Approval workflows for Purchase Orders and Work Orders are also enabled in this mode.
11What if I change computers?
Sign in with your Reserve account on the new computer (your plan’s device limit applies — manage devices in the Member Portal). On Advanced and Pro plans your companies and records restore automatically from the cloud, and Reserve keeps retrying if the connection drops. On Basic and trial there is no cloud copy, so restore an Export Backup file from your old computer instead.
12Can I back up and restore my data?
Yes. Export Backup creates one password-protected, AES-256-GCM encrypted file containing every company and your account settings. Restoring it needs the password and the same Reserve account. Automatic daily backups also keep the last 7 days on your computer.
13Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. Reserve is a Windows desktop application. A mobile companion app is on the roadmap.
14What happens after the trial ends?
The app prompts you to activate a license. All your data is preserved — nothing is lost. You continue right where you left off after activation.
